Peddler’s Village: Winding Paths, Cozy Shops, And Holiday Events

  • By Melanie Bodner
  • December 12, 2025
Taking a trip to Peddler’s Village in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, is one of those charming spots that feels like you’ve wandered straight into a storybook (or Disneyland, which inspired the founders to build a village with striking detail). With its winding brick paths, 18th-century-style buildings, unique boutiques, and events all year round for the whole family, it’s an ideal day trip any time of year. Kids will love riding the 1920s carousel, playing in the arcade, and even stepping into the popular restaurant that’s a replica of Luke’s Diner from Gilmore Girls. They host special holiday events, such as a gingerbread display during the holidays, a scarecrow contest in the fall, and a PEEPS® in Villagelage in the Spring. Looking for more to do in Pennsylvania? Check out Philadelphia attractions and unique locations in the City of Brotherly Love. (featured photo credit: PeddleVillagelage)

Bring the littles to the Giggleberry Fair

Littles will be thrilled to explore Peddler’s Village and its kid-friendly atmosphere. Start at Giggleberry Fair, an indoor entertainment center complete with a six-story mountain maze known as Giggleberry Mountain, an arcade, an antique carousel, and a toddler area where they let loose when you take a break from shopping. Giggles Discovers is for toddler and Pre-K kiddos that want to explore Giggles Fire Station, create their own show at the Puppet Stage, or have fun with water at the Waterway with interactive fishing, canals, fountains, and spouts. There is also a carousel (a fully restored 1922 Philadelphia Toboggan Company carousel) and arcade with over 40 games, so there is something for all ages. During the holidays, make sure to visit Santa at this indoor family fun center. If you are looking to shop, there are plenty of kid-friendly stops like Colt’s Sports Collectibles, jaZams, Pieces, and the Lahaska Bookshop. There are tasty stops, too, including Clusters Handcrafted Popcorn, where you can choose from fun popcorn flavors like Cookie Explosion, Just Like A Pickle, and Cinnamon Toast. Fizzy Mama is an old-fashioned soda bar come to life, Nina’s Waffles & Ice Cream is a small batch creamery, Skip’s Candy Corner has all the candy, and Sweet Occasions by The Lucky Cupcake Company’s Village Bakery has even more sugary samples.

Wander through unique shops

The shops at Peddler’s Village make shopping fun again thanks to their Main Street feel and unique offerings from over 60 small, locally owned businesses. And you can find everything from clothing and accessories to toys to candles, books, art, artisan galleries, candy stores, and you can even get village swag at the General Store. It’s easy to get lost wandering through, as you find handmade items, seasonal decor, toys, and treats, all with a magical, small-town vibe. If you are looking for gifts, stop in the Best Gift Idea Ever, or check out unique German items at the Fehrenbach Black Forest Clocks & Gifts, or discover works from famed artists or rising stars at the Lighthouse Galleries & Thomas Kinkade. There are also unique little shops like the Pepper Palace for spicy, tasty gifts, the Savory Spice Shop for herbs, spices, and blends, and Sticky Situations for lots of honey and sweet surprises. There is also the unusual What’s In A Name store, where you can map your past and find name shields, crests, and maps to dive into some family history.

Dine at Insta-worthy and comfort spots

Dining is a highlight at Peddler’s Village, where you can find cozy spots to sip coffee or contemporary dining. Start at the Insta-worthy Mama Hawk’s Kitchen and Coffee, where you can make your official ode to the Gilmore girls at this shop that looks just like Luke’s Diner from the series, and sneak in a pink frosted sugar cookie while you are there. Wander into Earl’s New American for a rustic yet contemporary vibe with Butternut Focaccia or their 5-Hour Braised Molasses Short Ribs. Visit Cock n’Bull, the flagship Peddler’s Village restaurant since 1962, with house-baked desserts and comfort foods for all. Buttonwood Grill, Hart’s Tavern, and Peddler’s Pub are informal pub spots if you want something quick and cozy. Other dining spots include the Red Fox Lounge, FresCafe, and Moku-Bowls (a must for a taste of Hawaii). There are also wine, beer, and spirits tasting rooms, like FreeWill Brewing Tap Room, Hewn Spirits, and Nissley Vineyards, when you need an adult beverage break.

Stop by one of the festive events at Peddler’s Village

What makes Village even more fun are the events they host every month, especially during holidays. Christmas is a special time at Peddler’s Village, with so many things to see and do, starting with the one million lights draped throughout the Village. The holiday lights are on display now through January 18, 2026, and the popular gingerbread display will be available through January 17, 2026 (except on Christmas Day). The Gingerbread Display is free to see, and it has winners in categories including the Most Professional Gingerbread House and the Incredibly Unusual Three-Dimensional Gingerbread Creation, as well as teen, youth, and kids categories. Also, be sure to check out the Enchanted Evenings on weeknights in December, where guests can enjoy after-dark entertainment and an opportunity to stroll the Village when it is less crowded. The Fire & Frost Fun event on January 9, 10, 16, and 17, 2026, where you can see ice sculptures, fire artistry and fire breathing, live ice carving, and a Jack Frost Scavenger Hunt. Peddler’s Village hosts chocolate-inspired events for Valentine’s Day in February, photos with the Easter Bunny and an Egg Hunt in April, larger-than-life sand sculptures at the Safari in the Sand in the Summer, along with Find Waldo and the Bucks Fever Art & Sculpture Exhibit, and look out for the scarecrows scattered throughout the Village during their Fall Festival days.

FAQs

Admission and parking at Peddler’s Village are free. When you arrive, a good place to start is the Visitor and Events Center, where staff members can make recommendations based on guests’ personal interests. Weekends tend to attract more visitors, while weekdays are typically less busy. There are a variety of events and festivals year-round, and the calendar is a good place to look before you visit. Earl’s New American and Cock n’Bull offer online reservation bookings through OpenTable.com. Except for busy weekends, Buttonwood Grill takes dinner reservations but is walk-in-only for lunch. Hart’s Tavern and Peddler’s Pub are walk-in-only restaurants and do not have tables larger than six-person tables. It is important to note that walk-in restaurants can experience waits of 2+ hours on busier days. Baby changing tables are available in both the men’s and women’s facilities, and Villagelage is stroller-friendly. If you want to spend more time at Peddler’s Village, there is an elegant countryside accommodation at the Golden Plough Inn filled with guest rooms and suites, and they have packages available so you can make a whole weekend of your visit.
